MINOT, North Dakota – Thanks to the Aggie Foundation, a $300 donation to the International Music Camp (IMC) was made to help two area youth attend the International Music Camp.
Christine and Tim Baumann, Co-Directors of IMC, shared their thanks to the Aggie Foundation for the scholarship money.
“It’s really inspirational to have organizations like the Aggie Foundation that say ‘We’re here for whatever we can do.’ Organizations like the Aggie Foundation are here to help amplify all the good things that are happening in the community and I think it’s really remarkable to see that,” said Tim.
Christine said, “It’s really encouraging and it makes it feel not so lonely I guess…when you work for something that serves the entire state, but to be in Minot and the Minot area where the arts are so valued and so appreciated and supported, is just very life giving to me.”
The Aggie Foundation supports a broad spectrum of local organizations in fulfilling their missions in North Dakota. In the past year Aggie Foundation has donated over $13,000 to organizations in an effort to support kids to attend various camps.
“Allowing kids to engage in creative activities helps provide them many opportunities,” said Terry Peterson, Aggie Foundation Board President. “Supporting kids and their passions is so important for their individual growth.”
IMC is a summer camp of the fine arts that serves campers ages 10 to 19 in over 40 different specialized programs. The camp is located on the border of North Dakota and Canada, bringing in roughly 2,000 from 15 different countries in addition to the United States and Canada.
The Aggie Foundation was established in 2012 by a group of friends from Velva, ND. The Foundation initially supported its mission of charitable giving via a modest, yearly scholarship provided to a Senior from Velva who excelled in Biology. They began to help raise funds for citizens in need, schools, youth sports, and local organizations or groups doing good things in Velva and the surrounding communities. Their expansion as a broad grant-provider and community partner allows them to support organizations across North Dakota working with community leaders to identify which organizations are in need of economic assistance.
