Partnership between Aggie Foundation and Big Dog Saloon supports local community groups.
MINOT, North Dakota – Thanks to Big Dog Saloon, partner of the Aggie Foundation, a $5,000 donation to the Surrey Fire Department was made in an effort to upgrade equipment for the organization.
Seth Bartholomay, Assistant Chief at Surrey Fire Department, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to improve equipment.
“The donation, made possible by Big Dog Saloon, will help us buy new radios to replace our soon to be outdated ones,” Seth said.
“We really appreciate the continued support we receive from our small town community.”
This donation is for the Surrey Fire Department to upgrade existing equipment, which helps their mission in protecting and serving the Surrey community and surrounding areas.
The Aggie Foundation supports a broad spectrum of local organizations in fulfilling their missions in North Dakota.
“Fire fighters are vital parts of our community,” said Terry Peterson, Aggie Foundation Board President. “We are proud to support our local emergency services in an effort to make sure our community is safe.”
The Surrey Fire Department has been working on revamping their efforts since an election in 2021 appointed a new Chief and Assistant Chief. Those efforts include upgrading equipment and gaining access to more gear to better serve the community. This is not the first donation that the Surrey VFD has received from the partnership between Aggie Foundation and Big Dog Saloon. A $2,000 donation, also for equipment needs, was given in October of last year.
The Aggie Foundation was established in 2012 by a group of friends from Velva, ND. The Foundation initially supported its mission of charitable giving via a modest, yearly scholarship provided to a Senior from Velva who excelled in Biology. They began to help raise funds for citizens in need, schools, youth sports, and local organizations or groups doing good things in Velva and the surrounding communities. Their expansion as a broad grant-provider and community partner allows them to support organizations across North Dakota working with community leaders to identify which organizations are in need of economic assistance.
