MINOT, North Dakota – Thanks to the Aggie Foundation, a $4,500 donation to the Rebel Athletics of Minot was made to assist in funding competitive meets and uniform costs.
Rebel Athletics of Minot was awarded $1,000 to cover expenses for youth gymnastic meets and Rebel Boosters was awarded $3,500 to cover expenses for leotards and warm-up costs in association with the competitive gymnastics team in Minot.
“This donation helped bring the 2023 State USA Gymnastics Meet to Minot for the first time in over a decade!” said Melissa Belnap, Owner of Rebel Athletics. “We’re truly appreciative of their generosity and support of our programs.”
Rebel Athletics of Minot is a gymnastics and cheer gym that offers a wide range of classes for boys and girls of various ages. Opened in June of 2021, Rebel has over 15 instructors and 268 youth enrolled in their programs. Rebel Athletics is also the practice facility for Minot High’s competitive gymnastics team.
“Organizations like these are so important for kids’ physical, emotional, and social development,” said David Buen, Aggie Foundation Board Member. “Through these programs children learn the values of teamwork, collaboration, commitment, and fair play; skills that will serve them throughout their lives.”
The Aggie Foundation supports a broad spectrum of local organizations in fulfilling their missions in North Dakota. So far, in 2023, they’ve donated over $65,000 to youth athletic programs across the state.
The Aggie Foundation was established in 2012 by a group of friends from Velva, ND. The Foundation initially supported its mission of charitable giving via a modest, yearly scholarship provided to a Senior from Velva who excelled in Biology. They began to help raise funds for citizens in need, schools, youth sports, and local organizations or groups doing good things in Velva and the surrounding communities. Their expansion as a broad grant-provider and community partner allows them to support organizations across North Dakota working with community leaders to identify which organizations are in need of economic assistance.
