Our Lady of Grace Food Pantry to provide more food supplY

MINOT, North Dakota – With help from their partners, Aggie Foundation is donating $3,000 to Our Lady of Grace Food Pantry to help continue their mission in providing food supplies for over 6,000 families.

Joyce Sand, coordinator at Our Lady of Grace Food Pantry, said donations like these are a need for their organization.

“It is already spent. We get our order from Fargo and it’s almost $3,000. It will pay for our monthly order from Great Plains, so that’s a big help…and we need that,” Joyce said.

The Aggie Foundation supports a broad spectrum of local organizations in fulfilling their missions in North Dakota.

“Our communities need support systems like this and anytime we can help it means so much,” said Terry.

“We couldn’t do this without our partners and this donation was made possible by The Columbian Club/Knights of Columbus.”

Our Lady of Grace Food Pantry has faced challenges along the way with pandemics, shortages, and lack of volunteers. Despite this, they are making progress through increased backing from passionate people.

The Aggie Foundation was established in 2012 by a group of friends from Velva, ND.

The Foundation initially supported their mission of charitable giving via a modest, yearly scholarship provided to a Senior from Velva who excelled in Biology. They began to help raise funds for citizens in need, schools, youth sports, and local organizations or groups doing good things in Velva and the surrounding communities.

Their expansion as a broad grant-provider and community partner allows them to support organizations across North Dakota working with community leaders to identify which organizations are in need of economic assistance.
