The Aggie Foundation was established in 2012 by Velva alumni who care deeply about small towns in North Dakota – and we know how vital it is to give back and support the next generation of community leaders.
It's our hope that with the help of the Thirsty Beaver in Granville and the Big Dog Saloon in Surrey, these scholarships can serve as the “tipping point” of success for the high schools seniors selected.
We will consider all qualified applications and hope to receive a diverse pool of requests. This award can fund traditional higher education; however, we are not precluded from awarding students choosing a less conventional career path.
In your application, ensure you convey your passion for whatever it is that you want to accomplish within one of the scholarship categories; Agriculture, the Trades, Health/Medical, or General Studies.
Know that your success defines our success. We look forward to learning about you, your future plans, and how the Aggie Foundation, the Thirsty Beaver, and the Big Dog Saloon might become a small part of you realizing your dreams.
For an application to be considered, it must be complete. A complete application is one that answers all questions, includes any additional attachments requested, and respects the indicated length limits for essay answers. It also must clearly indicate which one of the scholarship categories the applicant is applying for.
Please note that all scholarships will be paid to the third party designated on your application form. No scholarship monies will be paid directly to recipients.
If you are chosen as a recipient, Aggie Foundation must receive all necessary paperwork (including receipts, invoices, bills, and anything else requested by Aggie Foundation) from you within one month of the qualified expenses the scholarship was designated towards.
It is the policy of the Aggie Foundation not to discriminate in its consideration of scholarship applications and in its awarding of scholarships on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, national or ethnic origin, disability, or sexual orientation.
Applications will only be considered from Granville High School Seniors and Surrey High School Seniors. Scholarship recipient(s) will be notified and awardees announced by graduation day.
The Scholarship Selection Committee reserves the right to contact you if further information is needed for consideration.
