MINOT, North Dakota – Thanks to the partnership between Best Kept Secret and the Aggie Foundation, a $5,000 donation to Magic City Discovery Center was donated to the new center.
Wendy, Executive Director for Magic City Discovery Center, thanks the community for their continued support.
“It’s been amazing, really, we could not do this without all the community support. There is no way. I mean the fundraising part is hard, it was a lot of money to build this building. Without the generous support of our community members and partnerships with parks, and city, and state, and department of defense, without all of that and then donors from regular people like you and I, we would not be able to do it, for sure.” Wendy said.
“It definitely takes the whole community to get something like this done, but it benefits the whole community too. I think people understand that and see the benefit of it.”
The Magic City Discovery Center is a cross between a science center and a children’s museum. It has taken eight years to come to fruition and will be open to the public early 2023. The main goal of the center is to educate children, but will be a safe learning space for all ages. The center looks forward to bringing the first of something like this to North Dakota. The fundraising support is one-third Department of Defense, one-third the State of North Dakota, and one-third privately funded.
The Aggie Foundation supports a broad spectrum of local organizations in fulfilling their missions in North Dakota. They look forward to partnering with more projects like the Magic City Discovery Center in the future.
“To have something like the Magic City Discovery Center in North Dakota, let alone Minot, is absolutely incredible.” said David Buen, Aggie Foundation Board Member.
“We are excited to support them and their mission to bring more educational opportunities to children.”
